ANNUAL/PERENNIAL GREENHOUSE WORKERS (Full Time and Part Time)
All applicants should have basic knowledge of plant material. Previous experience is an asset however training is available. Duties include plant/property maintenance, shipping, receiving, pricing, inventory control and the display of plant material. This position requires lifting, standing and walking.
This position is very customer service oriented and requires a quick learner. We are seeking positive, outgoing people who enjoy a fast-paced work environment. Knowledge of plants, cash registers and point of sale experience would be an asset. Additional duties include: cleaning, pricing, inventory control and watering.
As the final employee the customer meets in making their purchase, our drivers are vital to the level of customer service we provide and the impression of Humber Nurseries left with the customer. Therefore, we are looking for people who take pride in their work, can work independently, as part of a team and are physically fit. Plant knowledge is beneficial, but not necessary. This position involves working outdoors in all weather conditions and involves heavy lifting.
Working in our Garden Store requires knowledge of pest/disease controls, inventory control, pricing, sales and customer service. It can be physically demanding with some heavy lifting, walking and standing. You should be an organized, adaptable, team player who likes people.
Must have a DZ license, experienced or licensed for HIAB Crane and ability to operate small tractors is preferred. Additionally, have knowledge of plant material and be able to read landscape plans. This is a general labour and customer service position. "Red Caps" primarily are wrapping plant material, and loading bagged products and interlock into customer vehicles. They are usually the last person our customer sees after shopping, which makes them a vital part of our service team. This position involves heavy lifting and working outdoors in all weather conditions.
