Amethyst Pearl Phlox

Light amethyst-pink flowers in early summer and potentially again in fall. Good pollinator plant. Does well in soils of good to average fertility provided good drainage.

Black Cherry Frost Dianthus

Part of the FRUIT PUNCH series, ‘Black Cherry Frost’ features semi-double red flowers that sometimes develop a white edge. These blooms are held above silver-blue foliage and emit a sweet clove scent. Excellent for cottage and rock gardens. Plants of this series exhibit good heat and humidity tolerance. Shearing back after their first blooms finish normally results in reflowering in the fall. Replaces ‘Black Cherry Wild’.

Black Pearl Coral Bells

Part of the PRIMO series, this line is an improvement on the DOLCE series.While adaptable to either sun or shade, best in full morning sun with some shade during the heat of the afternoon. Features shiny black leaves with ruffled edges with light pink flowers held above its neat, compact habit.

Blue Jean Baby Russian Sage

This vigorous selection replaces ‘PEEK-A-BLUE’. Does best in full sun and average to poor soils that are well drained. Drought tolerant once well established and excellent for pollinators.

Blue Magic Phlox

An interesting plant with flowers that open lavender blue with a light coloured eye, then mature to a pale purple with a dark blue eye. Deadhead to prolong the bloom period. Provide good air circulation to prevent powdery mildew. Blooms mid to late summer.

Burning Hearts Heliopsis

Possesses a bi-colored golden flower with vivid red eye. Blooms in July until October and is attractive to honeybees, butterflies and other pollinators. Also suitable for cutting. A native plant cultivar that is adapted to most soil types permitted they are well drained.

Carmine Red Aster

Well adapted to a wide range of soils provided good drainage. Best in full sun (greater than 6 hours). Attracts butterflies and pollinators. Yields carmine red flowers in late summer until frost. Ensure good air circulation to minimize powdery mildew.

Chocolate Cherry Sedum

This stonecrop has glowing red flowers against a back drop of deep-purple near black succulent leaves.  Try it in combination with chartreuse or electric blue foliage.  Good disease resistance.  Give it excellent drainage.  Great for planters.

Cocktail Tequila Sunrise Phlox

Sweetly fragrant orange-salmon blooms in mid to late summer. Flowers attract butterflies and hummingbirds. Does well in a wide range of soils with average fertility, including clay and sand, given good drainage.

Conny Helleborus SP

30-60cm tall. Spacing 45-60cm. Part of the Spring Promise Series.  Bold white flower with burgundy-red spots. Blooming in late winter to early spring. Evergreen foliage. Full sun to full shade. Plant in well-drained fertile, humus, rich soil.

Cranberry Lace Bee Balm

A good companion plant to Echinacea and Liatris. Mauve-lilac blooms held against burgundy bracts on fragrant grey-green foliage. Flowers are rich in nectar and are excellent for attracting butterflies, hummingbirds and other pollinators. Flowers are edible and leaves can be used in teas. Crazy Cayenne Coreopsis

Part of the SIZZLE AND SPICE line, new from Walter’s Gardens. Fiery sunset orange flowers of intense orange-red borne on dome shaped plants in early to late summer. Once established has low water needs and the plant performs well in both fertile to nutrient poor soils with good drainage. Attracts butterflies.

Elly Helleborus

A member of the Gold Collection/Spring Promise series. Features wine coloured, double flowers against lustrous green foliage. Does best in woodsy soil and with full sun until noon. Ideal under deciduous trees.

Fant Asiatic Lilies

Asiatic lilies that have clear colours and flower on upright stems. Colours include orange, red, pink, and yellow.

Fata Morgana Asiatic Lily

Kiss lily. Spacing 60 cm. Double yellow blooms in June-July. Plant 20 cm deep in well drained soil. Sun or partial shade.

Georgia Pancake Amsonia

A naturally occuring variety or nativar of sand plains in the southeastern United States. Does best in full sun but will tolerate some degree of light shade. Powder blue flowers are borne on soft green, needle like foliage. Attractive to butterflies. Its low, prostrate habit make it ideal as a groundcover or border. Adaptable to most soils, provided good drainage.

Hot Spot Asiatic Lilies

Members of the Asiatic Lily family.  Scented, single blooms on upright stems.  Flower in July to August. Colours include orange, yellow, and white.

Jewel of the Desert Amethyst

Excellent groundcover plant in an alpine or rock garden setting. Fairly quick spreading but will not over take other plants. Best in full sun. While adaptable to most soil pH types, the plant must have excellent drainage. Sandy, gritty, scree or any predominantly mineral based soils are best. Drought tolerant making it an excellent plant for xeriscaping. Magenta flowers start in summer and bloom over a long period.

Junior Dance Phlox

Part of the JUNIOR series which are an improvement over tall phlox as they are more compact and branched. Coral pink, pleasantly fragrant flowers bloom in mid to late summer. Flowers are attractive to butterflies and hummingbirds.

Kismet Intense Orange Coneflower

A KISMET series plant, known for its long bloom period and prolific number of blooms. Intense orange flowers keep blooming until the onset of frost. Upright, compact plant. Does best in coarse, mineral soils with moderate to low fertility. Great pollinator plant.

Lavender Butterfly Bush

A member of the BUZZ series. This butterfly bush is a neat, compact plant ideal for small gardens. Prolonged blooms of violet-lilac flowers with an orange eye start in July. Late to break winter dormancy. Strongly scented and ideal for the butterfly or pollinator garden. Does well in chalky soils and is drought tolerant once well established.

Lime Zinger Sedum

Densely packed clusters of lovely pink flowers provide outstanding colour in the garden from late summer into fall. Since this species has a dwarf, compact habit it will not require staking. Excellent resistance to mildew and rust. Plant in rich, moist, well drained soil. Full sun.

Maraschino Dianthus

Part of the FRUIT PUNCH series, this plant delivers with its cherry red flowers sporting a dark burgundy eye. Foliage is a lovely silvery-blue. Good heat and humidity tolerance. Provide good drainage and shear back after first flowering to encourage re-blooming.

Phlox Junior Dazzle

A member of the JUNIOR series, this phlox is compact and well branched. Rich violet-pink flowers in July to September are sweetly fragrant. Plant in an area of good air circulation to minimize powdery mildew. Attracts butterflies, hummingbirds and other pollinators.

Pink Potion Creeping Veronica

Part of the MAGIC SHOW Collection and a Proven Winners selection, ‘Pink Potion’ produces baby pink flowers in early to mid summer. Known to rebloom, this plant is an improvement over ‘Sweet Lullaby’. Does well in  average to fertile, well drained soils. Attracts butterflies.

Pow Wow White Coneflower

A cultivar of a North American native plant, this variety is more compact and floriferous than the straight species. White blooms appear from mid summer to early fall and are perfect for attracting a wide range of pollinators. Seed heads may be left on to provide an excellent source of food for overwintering birds. Adaptable to a wide range of soils, particularly mineral based with good drainage.

Queen of Hearts Butterfly Bush

Vibrant magenta-pink/red arching flower spikes on a compact rounded shrub. Flowers are lightly fragrant and highly attractive to butterflies, hummingbirds and bees. Prefers full sun and well drained soil. Blooms late summer to fall. This shrub has been known to be slow in breaking dormancy in the spring.

Rapido White Campanula

The RAPIDO series is an improvement over ‘CLIPS’ as these plants display better vigor, uniformity and bloom earlier. Adaptable to a wide range of soil pH and soil fertility, just ensure good drainage. White bell shaped flowers in late spring to early summer. Great for alpine gardens.

Red Girl Phlox

Sweetly fragrant orange-salmon blooms in mid to late summer. Flowers attract butterflies and hummingbirds. Does well in a wide range of soils with average fertility, including clay and sand, given good drainage.

Royal Wedding Oriental Poppy

Lovely pure white poppies with a deep purple eye. Blooms in late spring to early summer. Poppies go dormant in summer so plant amongst other perennials that will fill in. Does well in clay, sandy or average soil permitted it is given average moisture and is well drained.

Strawberry and Cream Asiatic Lily

An Asiatic hybrid. Large creamy white flowers featuring a central spot of strawberry red are borne on 90cm stems.

Summer Cloud Delphinium

A true bi-coloured delphinium. Flowers are in blue tones with white and are born in early to mid-summer. More compact and well branched compared to other varieties. Exhibits good heat tolerance.

Summer in Paradise Hibiscus

125-150cm tall. Spacing 125-150cm. Lipstick red buds open to very large 20-25cm vibrant magenta red flowers with a deeper red eye and red stamens. Flower petals are puckered and crinkled giving them added dimension. Dark green maple like foliage takes on a tint of greyed purple late in the season. Full sun to partial shade. Plant in moist well drained soil.

Valentine Bleeding Heart

Spacing 45 cm. Tall, arching stems carring red and white flowers in spring. Very popular and hard to beat in partial shade with adequate moisture.  May go dormant during dry summers.
